Akmal's incitement over KK Mart socks may backfire on Umno, Nga warns
DAP parliamentary leader Nga Kor Ming has called on Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh to cease inciting racial and religious sentiments over the KK Mart Allah socks debacle.
He said Akmal’s reaction is harmful and may end up backfiring on Umno.
Akmal is recycling old technique of pressing someone profusely apologised at the unintentional mistake committed by them. The civic society and majority of Malaysians accepted their apology and their unintentional mistake. Even PN and PAS is able to understand the situation in fasting month of the purpose of most forgiving and compassionate like most citizens. Akmal harping on it that too in fasting months which is holy month of repentance and sharing. I hope Akmal as a young leader who going to represent Malaysians in totality of all races n religions will portray love peace, caring and forgiving to his followers and the nation rather than arrogance and nonforgiving as if one doesn't do mistake in life. He must remember, he represent every individuals in the country as a politician. He needs everyones vote for him to win. If he is so prejudice, with what face he can approach others, whom he keep condemning them.
Very sad that such a trivial thing can incite such a vitriolic response from a community leader. What century are we living in where a pair of socks takes the headlines. It’s as if small tiny issues amuse small tiny brains. Akmal seems unable to rise up from his childish concerns into the world of long pants, real grass roots issues where he can move the Rakyat’s well-being FORWARD. Rather than these petty tribal-like tantrums to gain a few Taliban votes.
Why the deafening silence from the "leaders"?
