      RM2 million fine is peanuts.

Deloitte should have been closed like Arthur Anderson for false audit reports involving 50 billion of taxpayer money.

      Guanokarno07:20 AM, 31 Jan 2019

The article states that auditors qualified the accounts, and highlighted the issues in their audit report. SC punished them for not bringing up the matter. Shouldn't SC be reading them upon submission? They would have pick up something.So...SC punished auditors for not telling them what they should have known in the 1st place?interesting..(they did submit late, so part of the fine is justifiable)

What kind of cockamie fraud is this by Najib and his 1MDB Board of Directors thieves? RM901 million or 37.5% of RM2.4 billion disappeared as "transaction costs"? Max,it should not have been more than 1%!!!!! Who were the looters, especially the Malaysian ones?

MOF must sue Deloitte for negligence and compel them to compensate 1MDB the RM2.4 billion squandered by Najib & Co.

Deloitte by being complicit in the 1MDB fiasco, is guilty of conspiring to defraud the Malaysian public. A RM2.2m fine is actually slap in the people’s face. Their professional negligence caused the Rakyat to suffer numerous problems. The firm and its partners must be fined and jailed. It is criminal what they have done.

      Ong Thean Haw09:18 AM, 30 Jan 2019

If SC wants to deter future white collar criminals, they must grab the licensee or signing auditor by the collar and prosecute. If found guilty of negligence by the court of law, not only should they be given a jail sentence but also have their professional license withdrawn for good and bar from acting ever again as an auditor in any professional capacity in the country. Slapping the wrist of a naughty child treatment is woefully insufficient.

Certain individuals, not Deloitte, in the auditing firm should be held responsible for the irregularities. Further, money should not be used as a substitute for custodial sentence.
