Crooks and conmen  defending  crooks and conmen, all for money.  Deloitte and KPMG should have been closed long ago for massive fraud cover-up,  just like Arthur Anderson and Enron. MIA is a total fraud, collecting RM30 MILLION every year from members and having 200 odd staff but cannot complete an investigation for 3 years since Tony Pua made the complaints complete with documents plus so many reports on 1MDB.

Although one can say that actions taken now on auditors are better late than never, we should reflect the events leading to the 14th GE. Everyone single one of the agencies or firms connected to 1MDB chose to remain silent. There was cross the board embargo on opinions, indeed reverse actually took place. We have one or two inclduing the 1MDB chief executive openly assured the public of its financial soundness but we all know how dishonest they ahve been. Audit firms are commercial driven, they are bound by their own rules and standards. They too demonstrated a herd mentality by not saying anything adverse so as they protect their interests. The regulatory body MIA was equally bad. They chose to pick on small firms to remain relevant. Today if the government wants to find fault the entire firms, individuals along the supply chain should be investigated and charged. But this involves thousands, and in teh final analysis despite of all the rhetoric we can only accept ethical standards have its limits and these are only relevant when situation suits the parties. This can only meant that public interest is only secondary in the minds of many.

Asides SC and  MIA , SSM is also another body that hauls up auditorsd for queries on audited accs. The fact that 1MDB never submitted past many year's accs, nothing had been done by SSM on this! When a Chinaman co fails to submit accs on time, SC will be at their back and call demanding reasons and issuing summons straight away!  SSM needs to explain!

This should be good enough a reason to appoint more accountants into MACC and many other GLC's, GLIC's, Statutory bodies rather than using lawyers as heads and members of these bodies

I hope that stern actions taken up on the particular partner and all partner's of the accounting firms involved, including the lawyers, external Counsel rather than shaming and naming the lowest level executive of these organisations! Ranjit Singh was never fit for the job, not an accountant to start off, neither is teh current  SC head!

For all good intent and purposes, SC should be investigating PwC, the biggest benefactor in the Malaysian Corporate Economy!

MIA has different rule for audit firm in so called quality control. Smaller firms are selected for Practice Review by MIa but big firms enjoy Peer Review. I think is time to have the same rules.

Why is the Finance Minister not reviewing the practising licenses of all MIA Council members who are covering up the KPMG and  Delloite partner accountants who gave dishonest audit certificates for 1 MDB in return for huge disprortionate fees? Their conduct could even be considered criminal as accessories after the fact to the massive criminal misappropriation.

The big Cheating 5 as they are known today. Every audit they have done in the last 25 years needs to be re- examined. local auditing firms are asked to be night soil pickers while these top 5 are the enjoying cocktails. This is thanks to our 'Unregulators' like the SC, MIA,ect. Why is RS not being investigated for complicity?
