Will Anwar cede to an MACC RCI?
All eyes will be on today’s (Friday) cabinet meeting, where DAP will be pushing for a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) to investigate allegations that the MACC had colluded with private individuals to shake down business rivals.
DAP chairperson Gobind Singh Deo - who is also digital minister - said the MACC denying it had engaged in such activities was not sufficient to clear the graftbuster.
A major hurdle, however, will be Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who has been a staunch defender of the anti-graft body and its chief, Azam Baki.
Meanwhile, a second protest calling for Azam’s arrest will also be held outside the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya today, with the Teoh Beng Hock Association among those participating.

Rafizi teases alternative to Harapan
Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli is aiming to get support from Pakatan Harapan voters who have become disenfranchised with the coalition under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership.
Rafizi said he wants to give options to those who feel like they don’t know who to vote for anymore.
However, he stopped short of saying he was forming a new party, saying new details would only be forthcoming in June.

Rawang temple demolished
A Hindu temple sitting on private land - which was damaged by vigilantes two weeks ago - has been demolished.
The demolition took place in the early hours of Wednesday, after the temple committee relocated the deity figures within.
A spokesperson for landowner Yayasan Kubra said the temple relocation was voluntary.
However, lawyers representing the temple committee have disputed this, saying the committee was forced to vacate the site.
