Untrue that M'sia not hosting Quran competitions this year: Deputy minister

Claims circulating on social media that Quran recitation competitions are not being organised in Malaysia this year is untrue, says Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Zulkifli Hasan.
He clarified that the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) had scheduled the National Quran Recitation and Memorisation Competition to be held from May 23 to 28 in Kuantan, Pahang, while the International Quran Recitation and Memorisation Competition would take place from Oct 5 to 12.
