Voters cry data breach after calls, WhatsApp messages from campaigners

GE15 | Already hounded by phishing scams and marketing spam, mobile phone users are now met with a different kind of nuisance during this general election period.

Since the campaign period kicked off on Nov 5, voters have received calls or messages via WhatsApp from political party campaigners, prompting questions on personal data protection.

On social media, voters have shared screenshots of WhatsApp messages they received from campaigners urging them to vote.
