Criticising a court decision should not amount to sedition - Guan Eng

      Published: Feb 22, 2021 7:19 AM | Updated: Feb 22, 2021 10:08 AM

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng today said criticising a court decision should not amount to sedition or seen as further questioning the integrity of the judiciary.

We are allowed to criticise a corrupt politician,an incompetent doctor,a lazy teacher, abusing police, greedy bankers etc. Why are we not allowed to criticise a verdict delivered by a judge,s long as the criticism is done constructively, in a civilised and legal manner, without any personal attack toward the judges?Judges should accept these criticisms as it helps to improve our standard of judicial. In modern internet era,a judge cannot expect the public to accept any judgement that is perceived as biased and substandard. This is especially true if the judges are the ones who deliver the verdict to those who criticise them.
