Health minister denies claim that migrant crackdown during MCO was racist
Health Minister Dr Adham Baba said an Al Jazeera video segment, which examined the government’s crackdown on undocumented migrants amid the movement control order (MCO), was inaccurate.
“The report which accused the government’s action of implementing the MCO as racist is not true,” he said in a press conference in Kota Tinggi today. The statement was later posted on the Health Ministry’s Facebook page.

Health Minister - there was a mass outpouring of hatred and vitriol mainly by the Malay community against Rohingya that were working here. The very same people that imported the workers in the first place and encouraged them to work while their masters sat back and got fat and rich. They clearly demonstrated a level of inhumanity against people of a particular ethnic variety that shocked many. Yes, racism did rear its ugly head in plain daylight.
