Opposition parties did not participate in the by-election amid the Covid-19 pandemic which saw limitations on campaigning.

This is not the real result! Now BN, PAS and Bersatu under one roof but in 2018 the total vote were more than 16k! Now combaining all 3 malay parties PN got 13k plus votes only! Perhaps independant candidate did better despite losing the deposit! Nothing to be called as landslide!

So it is clear that PAS voters didn’t turn up for voting as expected. UMNO only got the same votes as GE14. So adding up UMNO-PAS votes in GE14 didn’t work and suitable in this constituency despite no opposition parties. So usual sabotage by the grassroots is expecting in GE15 if we trust this election results. Dominating Malay polity would be the theme of GE15 in Malay dominated constituencies.
