The Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) has defended its move to seek to expunge portions of a judgement concerning it by Court of Appeal judge Hamid Sultan Abu Backer.

Let the RCI investigate if AIAC is as white as snow. The corruption charges levelled against its former director is sufficient to call into question the integrity and impartiality of this arbitral body. Was it proper to expunge parts of the dissenting judgment on an intervener application at the leave stage when the FC had yet to hear the merits of the appeal?
