"Muhyiddin said the reason for the trip to Turkey was to attend training on initiatives and ways to combat online gambling." At a time when the country should be prudent on its spending, sending 16 senior police officers to Turkey for this training is not only ill-planned but also insensitive to the rakyat's plight. Wouldn't it make more sense to send the trainer to Malaysia, where a larger group can be trained? Why spend so much on a training program for the IGP who is going to retire soon?

At least he admits it crossed his desk for approval, but I hope he has learned his lesson. Ask for list of attendees with justification for inclusion, budget, cost centre to bear cost, aims, and outcomes expected from trip. There must be a measurable benefit to the police.

DAP, esp elder LKS, you have knotted us badly by taking Mahathir and his incompetent Malay-only aka Malay-first Umno-tainted crew (Bersatu) on your Save-Malaysia campaign prior to GE14! PH would be miles better without Bersatu!!!

What is there to study when he's stepping down soon, more like a holiday trip before retirement. Can moo-moo back up his claim that they are sponsored by totalisator board.

Sarawak Report has reason to believe the troop of officers will return on Tuesday 12th and has made some rough calculations on cost. A return business class flight leaving on the same days the subsequent week would cost RM6154 on the way out and RM8800 for the return – a total of RM14,954 per officer. That comes to RM254,218 in total for flights and approximately RM58,225 for the rooms, before taking meals and expenses into account.

TSMY you still seem to be in the mode of the previous regime. This is an example of poor leadership. If this was indeed a training trip were personnel responsible for training included in the entourage. What good will it do for our police force when those who are retiring in the next few months are part of the team. Are they going to impart their knowledge after retirement? In these times when the government has asked the rakyat to tighten their belts you approve a luxurious trip. Why business class and is there any reason why they should be staying in a 5 star hotel? Would it not be more effective if it was held here? More officers would have benefited from this training. And if you are saying that this trip is sponsored then my dear Minister you have opened another can of worms. Opposition fodder for Semenyih by election.
