Following Pakatan Harapan's loss in the Cameron Highlands polls last Saturday, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today stressed that the government must address the high cost of living, especially for those living in rural areas.

“We have to know more about what they (people) are not happy about. We know that among the things that affect them is the high cost of living...

Tun is saying that the rural poor needs to be helped. What about the urban poor? They too need help.. maybe even more than the rural folks as the cost of living in urban areas are a lot higher, they have no land to plant their own food or rear livestocks, they have to pay rent, they are not skilled enough to earn  money, some children have very little education, they live in cramp filthy places etc. The government should help all poor people regardless whether they are rural or urban. Don’t just help the rural ones because you need their votes.

Tun, what do you mean high cost of living doesn't mean anything for the rich compared to the poor? The high cost of living means everything for every single Malaysian citizen. Just because some or rich and most are poor, that doesn't mean it doesn't impact all. B40, M40 etc etc, all are still Malaysians and please don't criminalize the rich for the sake of poor votes. Address the issue at hand. Don't politicize everything just for the sake of getting votes or majority. You are chosen to take Malaysia forward. So please focus on solving issues and not vote mongering.

You have miss the plot again. You have not the courage to see what you have done wrong for the last 9 months. Cost of living is the country's issue. But in CH, you campaigned badly. Even forgetting the candidate's name. Your DUMNO type racial policy ( going against PH manifesto ) allowed the DUMNO/PAS combo to seize the initiative and drive the narrative in CH. PH was just reacting. Your obvious neglect of non Malays was clearly seen by all Malaysians and people of CH. And they taught you a lesson. Good for them.

RPGT beyond 5 years will seal the fate of PH. Voters did not expect to get this unfair tax for the solid support given to PH.

In 2018, EPF and Insurance were allowed combined tax deduction of RM6k. Effective 2019, they are splitted to RM4k and RM3k respectively. On 1st glance deductibles are higher, however the reality is take home became less due to higher PCB tax as not many people buys insurance as company covers them... the irony.. higher cost and lower income.. double whammy.. sigh

As PM, he should not sweep those issues raised / said under the carpet. If he is leading a responsible government, the PM should take appropriate actions to address the grouses and also lies spread.Otherwise, come Semenyih by election, your Bersatu candidate will lose.

EC must lodge police report against Umno and Pas for making racist and religious dangerous hate speeches spiced with lies, half truths and spins. The Hate speeches can be viewed in Utube for all to see. They were inciting the Malays against DAP and Manogaran.and PH.They even said DAP is anti Malay and Anti Islam. That Kit Siang has tabled a bill in parliament to ban Islam and that Dap is trying to close down tahfiz schools. That the Malays and Islam have lost power on their own land.
