Yoursay: Will someone in Harapan answer Terence Gomez?
Islam won't educate the people, create jobs, put food on the table or help pay off the national debt.Malay being lazy is Mahathir's excuse to claim that Melayu still needs gov't aid for the next 60 years. In fact, Melayu is just an excuse for a small group of Malay capitalists to continue plundering the public treasury through inflated gov't contracts. It was the same group that allegedly created May 13.Wealth should also be distributed equally among Malays.Mahathir is the only Prime Minister in the world whose children are all billionaires. They went from rags to riches, from being paupers to having untold wealth. Besides the 1MDB Scandal, this is another first in world history.Use the taxation system to re-distribute wealth without discouraging the brightest and best and spoonfeeding losers, born losers, sore losers, parasites, leeches, bloodsuckers, freeloaders, freaks, racists, fanatics and extremists.Besides Islam and the unwillingness of the public and private sectors to share the cake with stakeholders, corruption -- generally the transfer of wealth from those who have no power to those who have power -- and Malayan colonialism in Sabah Sarawak are the root causes of poverty in Malaysia and the lack of development in large parts of the country.Mahathir, a failure, will either go suddenly or after suffering for a month with protracted illness.Mahathir has a very limited and narrow vision. He's focussed on helping a small Malay capitalist group, which allegedly created May 13, to accumulate capital through inflated gov't contacts. This is tantamount to plundering the public treasury, ostensibly "legally", and thereby running up the national debt burden. After Mahathir dies, the Gen Y will piss on his grave.
Change if any, will only be on the surface, lip service only. We must ensure that AGC, MACC plus key institutions must be independent and report to Parliament so that abuses will be minimised. They cannot even put the big crook MO1 in jail with so many charges after so many months, so don’t expect too much. Sit back and watch the circus.
The average malay's reaction to Gomez's explication of the GLC situation is to attack the man just as they did to the young man in Oxford who posed a question to Mahathir in fluent English. In both cases, the pathetic inability to understand has roused the rabble to do what it does best. That, together with the "bewildering" ministerial contradictions on the China project (with the wily Mahathir remaining deliberately silent), says more about the future of this failing experiment with electoral change than anything BosKu can put out.
