This half past six minister don't even know what he was talking. He know how to burden the Rakyat only by increasing water price.

In the state of California, the government has made an official declaration that the water belongs to the people. As such, with new technology and R&D, they have managed to reduce water tariff many times. Xavier's lack of understanding of new technology is the main problem. He must have been briefed by an arts graduate with PTD training at his ministry. Science is about reducing unit costs all the time. As consumption grows, unit costs must go down. Probably he applies the PLUS - toll road operator's biz model; the more toll road users the higher the rate. Please publish your technological injection in water treatment is the last 10 years, then open your filthy mouth about increasing the rate.

Strategic mistake by Harapan. Water and electricity are basic necessities and to raise their rates after only 8 months in power is suicidal. A rate hike in utilities will result in a domino effect on all goods and services at a time when the Rakyat are still reeling from the aftershocks of the 1MDB scandal. If the Cabinet had approved the hike, I think it’s members are as dumb a lot as the BN ones. As it is, Cameron Highlands is almost gone to BN. All other by elections will see a return of BN. I hope they rethink this.

Some of the statements our Ministers make is not sensible. Here for example, the Minister says revision of the rates upwards will not burden the people. He cannot be referring to the poor because any revision, however small, will affect the poor. Talk sense, please.

Sabah and Sarawak should provide access to water for all Sabahans and Sarawakians. Access to water and sanitation are recognized by the United Nations as human rights, reflecting the fundamental nature of these basics in every person's life. Assess to water as a human right was adopted by the United Nations on 28 July 2010. Malaysia is a member state of the UN.Water, Land and Natural Resources Minister Dr Xavier Jayakumar should not raise water rates. Sabahans and Sarawakians must not go thirsty.
