Umno grassroots members will decide choice of candidates

After almost being completely wiped out in the Federal Territories, Umno will leave the selection of its electoral candidates in the territories to the party's grassroots.

This was said by Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today during his Turun Padang visit to Federal Territories Umno at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

"I have made the commitment in front of all division and branch leaders (earlier) that for the next general election, we do not have to use the service of consultants to pick our candidates...
