Court dismisses behavioural bond application against Gatco settlers

The Bahau Magistrate's Court has dismissed a behavioural bond application sought on 28 settlers from Kampung Gatco, Negeri Sembilan.

Magistrate Mohd Redza Ahmad Razali made the decision this morning after the settlers’ lawyer S Karthigesan argued that the bond was “not in compliance with the law”.

“It is procedurally wrong because certain mandatory components in Section 67 (of the Criminal Procedure Code) were not fulfilled. It is illegal.

“(In the end) the summons could not be sustained...
